In 2024, as part of a Kerala government initiative, Keralagro Outlets were established across 14 districts, with Kanjiramattom Agro Producer Company being allotted a Keralagro Premium Outlet in Mundankal, Pala. This outlet was inaugurated on March 21, 2024.
Additionally, equipment worth ₹700,000 was acquired for pulp production, along with a fourth dryer with a capacity of 1,500 kg.
From starting with a capacity of 400 kg, the processing unit has now grown to handle 4,000 kg per day. This movement, started for the upliftment of farmers, has provided ₹6 million in support for their operations by March 31, 2024.
In 2023, with further support from NABARD, the company received ₹619,000 and purchased its own vehicle.
In 2022, with the support of NABARD, they received a grant of ₹983,000, which played a significant role in further operations. Additionally, with the help of SFAC (Small Farmers’ Agribusiness Consortium), the company received ₹1 million, which will be available for use after three years.
The number of shareholders in the company increased to 506, and the capital rose to ₹2,998,600.
From 2021, the company began supplying value-added products to 23 retail outlets, including the Eco-Shop.
To store finished goods and raw materials safely, a 40-feet-long container was purchased, ensuring the preservation of goods with better hygiene.
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the company, with the support of the Agriculture Department, managed to collect and process cassava from neighbouring districts, generating substantial income for farmers. During this period, they processed over 200,000 kg of cassava.
On April 9, 2019, Kanjiramattom Agro Producer Company Limited was officially registered (CIN-U01820KL2019PTC057523), and they acquired a third dryer with a capacity of 1,500 kg.
In 2018, the company expanded further by acquiring an oil expeller for extracting oil and two pulverisers for processing products like rice powder, wheat powder, and other powders.
That same year, with support from the District Panchayat, they received a grant of ₹100,000 and started an Eco-Shop in Kanjiramattom. Subsequently, the company received an award from the Agricultural Development and Welfare Department for Best Agricultural Enterprise.
In 2017, the company continued its expansion by investing in a second, larger dryer with a capacity of 750 kg, significantly increasing its ability to process agricultural products like jackfruit and cassava.
In 2016, with the support of NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development), a Farmers' Club was formed, and PSWS was appointed as the POPI (Producer Organization Promoting Institution) by NABARD.
In the initial phase, with 264 members, the company raised ₹2.5 million and purchased 13.75 cents of land to construct a building. The first investment was in a dryer with a capacity of 400 kg to dry jackfruit and cassava.
Kanjiramattom Agro Producer Company Limited was established with a mission to uplift local farmers and revitalize agriculture in the region, which had been facing severe challenges due to market exploitation and declining crop prices. With the blessings of Bishop Joseph Kallarangatt, Auxiliary Bishop Jacob Murickan, and Bishop Emeritus Mar Joseph Pallickaparampil, the company emerged from the Pala Diocese's agricultural empowerment program, "Karshaka Bank", inaugurated on May 24, 2015.
As part of this initiative, under the leadership of Father John Pothittel, the then-vicar of Kanjiramattom Parish, and promoters Mr. Tom Jacob Alackal and Mr. Jaimon Puthenpurackal, 16 male Farmers' Interest Groups (FIGs) and 12 female Farmers' Interest Groups were formed with the assistance of PSWS, totaling 28 groups. A Farmers’ Federation was also established.
